It has ALMOST everything you need for historical knowledge!
Just like your grandparents attic, the Henderson Historical Society & Museum has something for everyone. The old church has some of the original worship furnishings and the 1900s Horwood stain glass windows. There are displays of Indian artifacts, local school and military memorabilia, tool and gadget wall, and paintings by local artists. The HHS is a noted history and genealogical research center. Adjacent to the main church building is an 1800s log cabin with period furnishings. Across the parking lot is the Peters - Stevens Boat Annex which houses a dozen Henderson made wooden work and recreational boats.
Each August on the second Saturday, the Society hosts "Henderson Heritage Day and Juried Craft Show." It's a community celebration of crafters, non-profits, music, re-enactors, exhibits, authors and food! If you miss it, you have to wait a year to experience it! Come join the fun and be a part of history!
